New Cardinals QB Josh Dobbs Explains Trade Process
Trades are part of life in the NFL, as 32 teams are constantly trying to either improve their immediate standing for the present or better position themselves for the future.
Josh Dobbs himself knows this life all too well, as he was traded earlier in his career from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since entering the league in 2017, Dobbs has switched teams now seven times after landing with the Arizona Cardinals this week.
Dobbs documented life as a traded player on his TikTok account and walked fans through what process was like:
"Yesterday when I woke up, did I have any idea that I would be moving from Cleveland, OH all the way out to Phoenix, AZ today? Not at all. However, am I extremely excited about the opportunity? 100%!" said Dobbs.
Dobbs says typically when you're traded, you only have a couple hours to gather your belongings and get on a plane to head towards your new destination.
That can lead to some complications, especially if you're already set in a furnished house/apartment like Dobbs is.
Dobbs says he packs essential items such as underwear and something to entertain yourself (iPad, computer, etc.), as you basically have to buy everything else when you land in your new home.
"It's definitely going to be a whirlwind, I will keep you guys posted. I'm excited to get out to Arizona, be a Cardinal and get back to work. I'll see you guys in the desert," Dobbs said before concluding the video.
