Notable Stars Missing From Cardinals' Voluntary Minicamp

The Arizona Cardinals continue their offseason prep for 2023, and as expected, some notable names were missing from action when reporters were given access to the field.
In this story:

TEMPE -- We're one day away from the 2023 NFL Draft, where the Arizona Cardinals will finally put to rest all rumors and speculation as to what they'll do with the No. 3 overall pick.

Whether they stick or trade down, the Cardinals will eventually find somebody in the first round to help usher in a new generation of football in Arizona.

As the team prepares for a wild three-day stretch this weekend, 70 players already on the roster continue their work as voluntary minicamp continues here at the team facility. The Cardinals - since they have a first-year head coach - are utilizing their extra minicamp allotted to them by the NFL.

Some footage from today's session open to media members:

There were three notable absences:

DeAndre Hopkins - as expected - is not with the team. He's been training in Texas during most of the offseason and is heavily reported to be traded at some point over the next week.

Budda Baker - also as expected - isn't with the team after making his trade request public. Baker reportedly told the Cardinals back in February to make him the highest paid safety in the league or trade him. Arizona reportedly has no plans on trading him, leading to a situation worth monitoring if nothing changes.

Isaiah Simmons also was not present today, though there's no rumors or smoke around his status with the team. The Cardinals have yet to make a decision on his fifth-year option, which is due on May 1.

Marquise Brown and D.J. Humphries were present but were working off to the side.

Reminder: This is merely voluntary. Mandatory camp will begin on June 13.
