One Notable Stat for Every Cardinals Rookie Drafted

The Arizona Cardinals are still weeks removed from rookie minicamp, but it's never too early to learn about the upcoming class.
In this story:

The Arizona Cardinals are fairly excited about their upcoming class of rookies, and rightfully so.

On top of the major draft capital they landed for 2024, the Cardinals were able to add some instant impact players to begin the transformation in Arizona, one many believe to be heading in the right direction.

Here's one notable sat for every Cardinals rookie:

OL Paris Johnson

Paris Johnson - highly considered to be the top offensive lineman in the class - allowed just one quarterback hit during his career at Ohio State.

Johnson was a two-year starter for Ohio State and tallied just shy of 1,000 pass-blocking snaps according to Pro Football Focus. He started at left tackle last year after playing at right guard in 2021.

EDGE BJ Ojulari

BJ Ojulari registered 126 quarterback pressures since 2020, second only to Alabama's Will Anderson during that time.

Ojulari looks to replace a Cardinals front seven that lost J.J. Watt and Zach Allen this offseason. He has experience rushing off both sides of the ball.

CB Garrett Williams

Garrett Williams allowed zero penalties in pass coverage over his final two years in college, per PFF.

Williams is currently healing from a torn ACL suffered during last season at Syracuse, and many believe he would have been drafted higher than his third-round landing spot had he not gotten hurt.

WR Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson scored a 9.55/10 on his RAS (relative athletic score), ranking 139th out of 3,062 WR's graded from 1987 to 2023.

Wilson was also a two-time captain during his time at Stanford.

OL Jon Gaines II

Jon Gaines II played a total of 2,118 snaps for UCLA, all at different positions.

In 2022, he played all 932 snaps at right guard. In 2021, he logged significant snaps at center (122), right guard (590) and right tackle (94) with one play at left tackle. The year before he played 62 snaps a center and 316 at right guard.

The Cardinals were big on versatility heading into the draft - they sure got it with Gaines.

QB Clayton Tune

Clayton Tune is the third-highest graded quarterback by Pro Football Focus since 2021.

He also might be the most confident.

"I think I'm the best quarterback in this class and I feel like God's got a plan for me, so I wasn't too stressed about it," Tune said after being drafted. "I didn't have too many expectations but I'm just happy to go to such a great organization and be able to live out - I'm just happy to go in there and work and compete."

LB Owen Pappoe

According to Next Gen Stats, Owen Pappoe's forty-yard dash time at this year's NFL Combine (4.39) ties Isaiah Simmons for fastest time by a linebacker since 2003.

Pappoe was a two-time captain during his time with Auburn.

CB Kei'Trel Clark

In 2021, Kei'Trel Clark led the ACC with 10 pass break-ups before sliding into the slot corner role in 2022.

Clark displayed versatility but ultimately could earn playing time in the slot thanks to his size and physicality at the line of scrimmage. His 4.42 40-time doesn't hurt.

DL Dante Stills

Dante Stills' 90.3 run defense grade in 2022 was the fifth-highest for defensive linemen last season.

According to PFF, only Calijah Kancey and Jalen Carter had higher grades at his position at DT.
