Win-Loss Predictions for 2023 Cardinals After Schedule Release

The Arizona Cardinals now know their schedule for the 2023 season - how will they fare?

The Arizona Cardinals just a short time ago unveiled their schedule for the 2023 regular season, and like everyone else on the web, we've already got opinions on how the season will unfold under new head coach Jonathan Gannon.

Win-loss predictions for the upcoming season:

Week 1: AT Washington Commanders

The Cardinals begin the Gannon era on the road against a Washington squad that does find themselves in better shape, but not by much. However, with Kyler Murray out to begin the 2023 season, we'll give the nod to a Commanders team that has more continuity - and a starting quarterback - to start the year.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-1

Week 2: New York Giants

Arizona begins their home slate against a Giants squad that made the playoffs the season prior, hoping to grab the NFC East crown in 2023. The Cardinals have yet to establish anything close to homefield advantage here - and the Giants are clearly the better team - so Arizona begins their stint at State Farm Stadium with a loss.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-2

Week 3: Dallas Cowboys

With a healthy Dak Prescott and one of the top defensive units in the league, it’s hard to envision the Cardinals realistically defeating Dallas in the regular season.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-3

Week 4: AT San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have such a talented roster and wouldn’t dare lose to an inferior Cardinals squad at home. No upset specials here, especially if SF is the team everybody thinks they are.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-4

Week 5: Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals lost two starting safeties but are still considered to be one of the best teams in the NFL. If Joe Burrow is healthy, it’s hard to imagine the Bengals dropping this road contest.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-5

Week 6: AT Los Angeles Rams

The walls of SoFi Stadium are anything but daunting, especially when the Rams aren’t rocking on all cylinders. Yet with both teams in the same ballpark (you could make the argument the LA is indeed ahead of them), homefield belongs to the Rams.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-6

Week 7: AT Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is one of the toughest places to play, and though divisional games can boil down to anything, it’s hard to look at this young Cardinals roster leaving that loud stadium with a win.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-7

Week 8: Baltimore Ravens

With Lamar Jackson back in Baltimore with new weapons around him, good luck to Gannon and the rest of his staff trying to stop him. The Ravens – heavily expected to contend in the AFC – simply shouldn’t lose this game.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-8

Week 9: AT Cleveland Browns

This game could surprise people, but the Browns have just a better roster and are at home. Maybe their new logo (TBD) helps them, too?

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 0-9

Week 10: Atlanta Falcons

There’s a lot of negativity about the Cardinals in these predictions, but the Falcons are barely ahead of Arizona even after adding RB Bijan Robinson in the draft. There’s normally one or two home games per season a team can sway in their favor, and this is one of them.

W/L Prediction: Win

Record: 1-9

Week 11: AT Houston Texans

As the kids would say, this is a mid-off. Two of the worst teams battling it out. It’s hard to find a team that’s earlier in their rebuilding stage than Arizona, but they are indeed ahead of the Texans in that regard.

W/L Prediction: Win

Record: 2-9

Week 12: Los Angeles Rams

The Cardinals and Rams find themselves in a similar boat this year, and anything goes when it comes to division rivalry games. Can being at home for this matchup make the difference? We believe so.

W/L Prediction: Win

Record: 3-9

Week 13: AT Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers improved themselves strongly over the offseason, and if Kenny Pickett takes another step in year two, Pittsburgh should be contending for the division crown. Not this year, Cardinals. Especially in the Steel City.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 3-10

Week 14: BYE

Week 15: San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers only seemingly got better in the offseason, and even with their quarterback situation up in the air, they’re too good of a team to lose to Arizona in terms of talent and continuity.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 3-11

Week 16: AT Chicago Bears

Finally, a winnable game. Justin Fields hasn’t been what people hoped he could be (yet) and Chicago is still one of the worst in the league. Call this a coin-flip, but there’s a funny feeling the Cardinals could be favorites even on the road.

W/L Prediction: Win

Record: 4-11

Week 17: AT Philadelphia Eagles

Hard to imagine the Cardinals defeating the NFC champions in their own time zone, even after losing some considerable talent.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Record: 4-12

Week 18: Seattle Seahawks

Despite their two picks in the top 20, the Seahawks are much closer to a playoff team than some believe. As of now, Seattle projects as the far better of the two squads. Regardless of Arizona being at home, the Seahawks snag one in State Farm Stadium.

W/L Prediction: Loss

Final Record: 4-13
