Cardinals Open as Massive Underdogs to 49ers in Week 4

The Arizona Cardinals are by far the largest underdogs by sportsbooks heading into Week 4's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

Good teams win, and great teams cover.

Thus far the Arizona Cardinals are a perfect 3-0 against the spread, having covered in their prior two losses against the Washington Commanders and New York Giants before winning outright against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.

Despite shocking the world, the Cardinals are again massive underdogs in sportsbooks ahead of their Week 4 battle with the San Francisco 49ers. SI Sportsbook has the Cardinals as 13.5 point underdogs in their first divisional test of the year.

Entering 2023, the Cardinals were the sole team in the NFL to not be favored in any of their 17 regular season matchups.

The AZ-SF spread is the only one (at the time of publish) to be in double digits, with the next highest spread coming with the Kansas City Chiefs as -9.5 favorites over the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.

The 49ers themselves are 2-1 against the spread this season with their sole miss coming in Week 2 when they won by a mere seven points rather than covering the 7.5 point spread.

San Francisco will be playing at home in Week 4 with some extra days of rest after playing on Thursday Night Football last week. The 49ers are 3-0 and are playing some of the best football seen across the league.

The over/under for the game is listed at 43.5. The under is 1-2 for the Cardinals while 2-1 for the 49ers.
