Halftime: Rams Lead Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams are locked into a tight battle in their Week 12 matchup.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals trail the Los Angeles Rams 21-8 after two quarters of play. 

The Rams opened scoring on the opening drive of the game, marching on a nine-play, 75 yard drive that ended with a Tyler Higbee touchdown reception to emerge ahead 7-0.

The Cardinals answered with their own touchdown drive, a 12-play, 73 yard march capped by a Kyler Murray rushing touchdown. A Clayton Tune two-point conversion would push Arizona ahead 8-7.

Punts were exchanged by both sides to end the first quarter before Higbee notched a second touchdown to give Los Angeles a 14-8 lead with just under ten minutes to play in the second quarter.

With just under four minutes left, the Rams had the opportunity to extend their lead though Lucas Havrisik missed the 50-yard field goal attempt. 

At the two-minute mark, the Cardinals failed to convert their fourth-and-short attempt, spotting the Rams with prime field position around the 50-yard line. 

A minute later, Rams running back Kyren Williams found the end zone on a 15-yard pass to lead 21-8.

 Los Angeles nearly found their fourth score of the first half before Jalen Thompson - who was questionable entering today - picked off a Matthew Stafford pass with 15 seconds left. 

The Cardinals were able to smartly utilize their three timeouts and sneak into field goal position, where Matt Prater nailed a 56-yard field goal before a holding call wiped away the attempt and ended the half.

Kyler Murray finished the half completing 8-17 passes for 66 yards. James Conner attempted just five rushes for 24 yards. 

Matthew Stafford completed 19-24 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns to one interception. Kyren Williams has 64 yards on ten attempts. Los Angeles has 16 first downs to Arizona's eight. 

Arizona will receive possession to begin the third quarter.
