Fantasy Experts Say Sit Cardinals WR Marquise Brown
Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown approached 2023 with a great opportunity to fill the shoes/production of former WR1 DeAndre Hopkins, though Week 1 didn't exactly invoke confidence in fantasy football players.
Still without Kyler Murray, Brown was catching passes from Josh Dobbs - who averaged a mere 4.4 yards per attempt. Brown finished with just 8.7 PPR points, good enough to finish as WR48 in fantasy.
Dobbs will again be the starter in Week 2 against the New York Giants, and fantasy football experts aren't exactly expecting big results from Hollywood:

"It’s going to be a rough go for Marquise Brown this season. He was targeted five times in Week 1, catching three passes for 28 yards. He also had a 29-yard rush. Brown can stretch the field with the best of them, but I simply don’t trust Joshua Dobbs to consistently take advantage of his abilities. Especially not this week, as the Giants have allowed the eighth-fewest yards on deep passes since the start of last season. Brown is likely going to be very boom-or-bust in 2023, making him difficult to start with confidence on any given Sunday. This feels like a safe week to send him to the bench."

"The Arizona Cardinals offense didn’t give us a whole lot to get excited about. Zach Ertz doubled Brown in both targets and receptions against the Commanders and could still struggle to find significant success through the air against the Giant’s defense with Joshua Dobbs or Clayton Tune under center."
PFF
"Under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, the Giants were a man-heavy team in 2022 and that trend continued in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
"No defense allowed a higher reception percentage while in man coverage (54%) or a higher percentage of passing yards allowed (71%) in man coverage than the Giants in Week 1.
"The Cardinals’ receivers faced a fair bit of man coverage in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders and didn’t have great success.
"There will be an opportunity for the Cardinals offense to redeem themselves against a man-heavy defense that also disappointed in Week 1, although the lack of success doesn’t make this as ideal of a matchup as we’d hope for."
