Cardinals Add Former Bears DL
ARIZONA -- Another fresh body has been added to the Arizona Cardinals' defensive line.
Hours after reportedly signing Las Vegas Raiders DL Bilal Nichols, the Cardinals are expected to add former Chicago Bears DL Justin Jones according to Peter Schrager.
The deal is reportedly worth three years and $30.1 million with $19.75 million guaranteed.
Jones will be 28 when the regular season begins.
Standing at 6-3 and 309 pounds, the Cardinals add another big body to the mix of a defensive line that needed all the help they could get after a dismal 2023 campaign.
Arizona also often rotates their front heavily, so more bodies are always welcome under the watch of HC Jonathan Gannon and DC Nick Rallis.
Jones first entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. After spending four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, he's spent the prior two with the Chicago Bears.
Jones has played in every game the past two seasons with 68% and 69% of snaps played, respectively. Last year, Jones tallied 49 combined tackles with 4.5 sacks, four passes batted down and 17 quarterback hits.
Per Pro Football Reference, Jones has previously lined up at both tackle and end. Versatility has been a big key for the Cardinals' search of new players ahead of 2024.
Arizona has now added three new additions in Jones, Nichols and CB Sean Murphy-Bunting. They also previously re-signed Jesse Luketa, Carter O'Donnell, L.J. Collier and Trystan Colon.
