Cardinals, Bears Christmas Uniform Matchup
ARIZONA -- Though the Arizona Cardinals aren't at home, they're still rocking their clean all-red looks in their Week 16 road matchup against the Chicago Bears.
This isn't the first time Arizona will wear their typical home looks away from State Farm Stadium. In Week 1 the Washington Commanders opted to wear white, forcing the Cardinals to either wear red or black to begin the season.
Chicago - as the home team - had first dibs on what to wear and opted for their 1936 throwback looks, which features a white jersey and vertical orange/blue stripes on the shoulders with a unique helmet.
The Bears are 4-2 in the looks which have been worn exclusively at Soldier Field. It first debuted back in 2019.
Both teams will look good when they take the field, though Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon is concerned with keeping ball control at the top of the priority list.
"Knowing that this team, when they win the takeaway battle, I think they’re 4-0 and when they lose the takeaway battle, I think they’re one and something. Certain teams can overcome it, but that’s a winning stat for a reason. We lost it two nothing last game and you lose the game. We’ve overcome it at times, but our wins were typically in the positive with that so a huge emphasis and knowing that this team takes it away," he said.
"That’s how they win games. They steal possessions and they stop possessions by taking it away. Those are big plays, momentum plays in a game that can be a turning point in a game, which we’ve got to do a really good job of.”
