Cardinals Confirm DL is Out For Season
ARIZONA -- The losses continue to pile on and off the field for the Arizona Cardinals.
Meeting with reporters following the team's Week 16 loss to the Chicago Bears, head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed another member of the team would be lost due to injury.
"J Led [Jonathan Ledbetter] is gonna be done for the year with a knee," said Gannon before providing other updates.
"Hollywood [Marquise Brown], we'll see what comes along this week. Hopefully we get him back out there. Garrett [Williams] should be back out there, I think other than that we should be pretty clean."
The loss of Ledbetter is unfortunate, as he established himself as one of the mainstays along a Cardinals defensive line that featured little promise after losing prominent names such as J.J. Watt and Zach Allen in the offseason.
Arizona has seen the likes of Budda Baker, Kyzir White, L.J. Collier, Josh Woods and others on their defense hit injured reserve through various points of the season. The injury bug certainly has not been kind in the desert.
Ledbetter was initially signed to the Cardinals' practice squad back in 2021. Last season he also saw his playing time come to an end due to a knee injury against the Atlanta Falcons in January.
Ledbetter will finish his 2023 campaign with 46 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Arizona is on the road to play the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend.
