Kyler Murray Returns vs 49ers After Apparent Groin Injury
*UPDATE: Murray has returned to the field*
ARIZONA -- The injuries continue to pile up between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
With names such as Trey McBride, Brock Purdy and Marquise Brown leaving due to injuries (all but Brown have returned to this point), Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray now joins the club.
With 13:10 left in the third quarter, Murray had his groin area landed on by 49ers defender Clelin Ferrell, which saw the former Heisman winner go down in immediate pain.
After spending a few minutes down on the field in obvious discomfort, Murray walked off under his own power and went right to the blue medical tent.
He was replaced by Clayton Tune.
The Cardinals entered Week 15's matchup with a 3-10 record, though they are 2-2 since Murray returned after rehabbing an ACL injury.

Murray was quite complimentary of the 49ers' defense ahead of today:
“A lot. Obviously, they’ve got great players all over the field. Rotating out D-linemen on the field. They’ve got a ton of guys over there, more than probably anybody in the league. And we know, since I got into the league it’s been like that. I’m not going to say I’m used to it, but we’ve got to be ready for a war.
"I know they’re not going to come in here and take us lightly, especially after last game we played them pretty good, but like I said, man, it’s a great opportunity. You’re playing probably against the best defense in the league. For me, and for everybody on this offense we should go out there with a chip on our shoulder and go out there and be ready to execute.”
He currently has completed 8-13 passes for 98 yards and one interception. The Cardinals trail San Francisco 28-13 at the time of publish.
