Arizona Cardinals LB Kyzir White was fined $18,056 for his late hit on Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell in Week 1:

In the first quarter of Arizona's 20-16 loss vs. Washington, Howell scrambled to the left and made his way out of bounds before White launched fairly high into the quarterback. A small scuffle ensued and White was penalized for the hit.

The Commanders opened scoring later on that drive after White's penalty contributed to the 67 penalty yards to hand Washington the early lead.

White - who wore the green dot in his first start for Arizona - had nine tackles on the day and played 100% of snaps for the Cardinals. He was brought over from the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, where he had prior experience with both HC Jonathan Gannon and DC Nick Rallis.

"When you look at tape on the 2023 Arizona Cardinals, I think you're going to see that all year of us playing violent, fast with a lot of takeaways and a lot of energy," White said to reporters this week. "We're trying to be the best defense in the NFL, simple as that."

Other fines:

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf $10,927 for unnecessary roughness

New York Jets LB Chazz Surratt $4,833 for unnecessary roughness

Denver Broncos S Kareem Jackson $14,819 for unnecessary roughness

Los Angeles Rams DL Aaron Donald $16,391 for roughing
