Cardinals WR Michael Wilson Suffered Setback; Won't Play vs Texans
ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals will be without Michael Wilson in Sunday's Week 11 matchup with the Houston Texans.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Wilson (dealing with a shoulder injury) suffered a setback this week and won't play.
Wilson - a rookie third-round selection from Stanford - has been a strong addition to Arizona's wide receiver corps thus far. His 6-2 frame and ability to win routes has impressed teammates and coaches since his arrival in the offseason.
Thus far, Wilson has 28 receptions for 435 yards and two touchdowns. He's averaging 15.5 yards per catch.
Only Marquise Brown (92.6%) has played more offensive snaps at receiver than Wilson at 71.4%.
With Wilson questionable, the Cardinals signed Andre Baccellia to the active roster from the practice squad this week.
Wilson previously missed Week 9 with a shoulder injury. WR Zach Pascal was also ruled out with a hamstring. It's expected Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch see an increase in snaps as the Cardinals seek their third win of the season.
Wilson is one multi-touchdown game away from joining Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin as the only rookies in Cardinals franchise history to have multiple games with two touchdown receptions.
Kyler Murray - back to the starting lineup after recovering from ACL surgery - seems to already like his new weapon.
“I love Michael. He is a great kid, but he’s a great player. I think he does everything right. Anything you ask, he’ll do. Almost to the point of like— I’m just joking around sometimes and I may ask him (to do something) and he’s like, ‘Yeah, K1. I’ll do it.’ He’s bought in, man. He’s a great teammate too, so I’m looking forward to getting him the rock." - Murray on Wilson
The Cardinals play Houston at 11:00 AM Arizona Time. Official inactives will be released 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
