Cardinals Named Best Fit for Free Agent LB
ARIZONA -- There's plenty of positions for the Arizona Cardinals to address as free agency looms, and with a projected $40 million in cap space heading into 2024, the team has a variety of players they could target.
Spots such as receiver, defensive line, offensive tackle, edge and corner have gotten the most discussion, though off-ball linebacker could be an underrated position to monitor.
ESPN recently deemed the Cardinals as a great fit for free agent LB Frankie Luvu:
"The Cardinals need more production at the linebacker spot in Jonathan Gannon's defense, and they'll get the opportunity with Luvu headed to free agency. Luvu posted career-best numbers with the Panthers last season, with 125 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He fits here as an off-ball linebacker who can track the edges in the run game and get home on schemed blitzes." - ESPN's Matt Bowen
At inside linebacker the Cardinals do have Kyzir White - who led the team in tackles despite playing in 11 games and Josh Woods, who started some games for Arizona but is set to hit free agency.
Luvu - currently 27 years of age - has a projected contract of four years for $45 million on Spotrac.
