Cardinals Reportedly Bringing on Israel Woolfork as QB Coach
The Arizona Cardinals have quickly added to their coaching staff since introducing head coach Jonathan Gannon, and now it appears quarterback Kyler Murray will have a fresh face at his positional coach.
CBS Sports' NFL insider Josina Anderson is reporting that Israel Woolfork is accepting the position.
Woolfork got his first opportunity in the NFL thanks to Cleveland's Bill Willis Coaching Fellowship. The Browns -per their website - created the opportunity for a rising minority coach with a focus on the offensive side of the ball.
He previously coached running backs and wide receivers at Miami University.
Woolfork is just the latest addition to a Cardinals coaching staff that looks like this:
Head Coach: Jonathan Gannon
Offensive Coordinator: Drew Petzing
- OL Coach Klayton Adams
- WR or Passing Game Coordinator Drew Terrell
- QB Coach Israel Woolfork
Defensive Coordinator: Nick Rallis
Special Teams Coordinator: Jeff Rodgers
Woolfork has the task of trying to maximize Murray's talents, which can come as even a greater challenge with his recovery from a torn ACL.
More so, he will be tasked with preparing whoever the Cardinals have at quarterback until Murray is deemed healthy enough to return.
