Cardinals Rivals Trade for Chase Young
ARIZONA -- Its been a fairly active trade deadline eve/day for the NFC West.
The Seattle Seahawks yesterday landed Leonard Williams in a trade with the New York Giants. Today, the Arizona Cardinals moved Josh Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings - and now a third team within the division is making noise.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the San Francisco 49ers are acquiring defensive end Chase Young from the Washington Commanders.
Sources: Former No. 2 overall pick #Commanders DE Chase Young is being traded to the #49ers. Incredible. Likely a mid-round pick in 2024.

The pick San Francisco ended up sending back to Washington was a third-round selection.
Young - the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft - won the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award and has a Pro Bowl to his name, though injuries have derailed what was expected to be a dominant career from the Ohio State product.
Now, he lands on a 49ers defense with fellow Buckeye Nick Bosa rushing the passer. San Francisco continues to stockpile talent on a defense that already has names such as Bosa, Arik Armstead, Javon Hargrave, Clelin Ferrell, Javon Kinlaw and Randy Gregory on the defensive line alone.
The 5-3 49ers have 18 team sacks thus far. If Young can return to full health, that's an awfully scary defensive front Arizona will have to face.
The Cardinals previously lost 35-16 to San Francisco in Week 4. They'll host the 49ers back at State Farm Stadium in Week 15.
