CARDINALS CLAIM OL, PLACE TWO PLAYERS ON IR

Official press release: "The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has been awarded its waiver claim on offensive lineman Carter O’Donnell from the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, the Cardinals placed offensive lineman Dennis Daley and linebacker Myjai Sanders on injured reserve.

"O’Donnell (6-5, 305) spent the past three seasons (2020-22) between the Colts active roster and practice squad but did not appear in a game. He originally signed with Indianapolis in 2020 as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Alberta in Canada. A Red Deer, Alberta native, the 24-year old O’Donnell played four seasons (2016-19) at the University of Alberta where he earned first-team All-Canadian honors in 2019 and second-team honors in 2018."

TEAM MAKES MOVES OFFICIAL

The following is from an official press release from the Cardinals:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has been awarded its waiver claims on the following six players:

Offensive lineman Trystan Colon from the New York Jets

Tight end Elijah Higgins from the Miami Dolphins

Offensive lineman Keith Ismael (ish-MALE) from the San Francisco 49ers

Offensive lineman Ilm Manning (pronounced “Elm”) from the San Francisco 49ers

Cornerback Starling Thomas V from the Detroit Lions

Safety K’Von Wallace from the Philadelphia Eagles

To make room on the roster, the team has released wide receiver Daniel Arias, offensive lineman Marquis Hayes, safety Jovante Moffatt, defensive lineman Ben Stille and tight end Blake Whiteheart.

ANDRE BACCELLIA BACK TO PRACTICE SQUAD

Aaron Wilson is reporting WR Andre Baccellia is landing back on Arizona's practice squad. 

CARDINALS CLAIM SIX PLAYERS

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Cardinals have claimed a league-high six players off waivers:

C Trystan Colon from the Jets, TE Elijah Higgins from the Dolphins, C Keith Ismael from the 49ers, OT Ilm Manning from the 49ers, DB Starling Thomas from the Lions and DB K’Von Wallace from the Eagles.

The Cardinals did not appear to have any of their players claimed by other teams. 

PRELUDE

As of noon EST, the NFL and its 32 clubs could officially begin processing waivers and adding to their practice squad. 

The Cardinals are heavily expected to bring in a handful of names via waivers with positions such as long-snapper, center and running back expected to be added. 

Yesterday, the team cut their roster down to 52 players after releasing the following players:

Linebacker David Anenih, Wide receiver Andre Baccellia, Defensive lineman Eric Banks, Offensive lineman Jackson Barton, Quarterback David Blough, Long snapper Aaron Brewer, Safety Kendell Brooks, Offensive lineman Cohl Cabral, Safety Andre Chachere, Running back Corey Clement, Wide receiver Brian Cobbs, Wide receiver Davion Davis, Wide receiver Kaden Davis, Quarterback Jeff Driskel, Tight end Joel Honigford, Offensive lineman Hayden Howerton, Safety JuJu Hughes, Offensive lineman Braylon Jones, Defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence, Linebacker Zach McCloud, Cornerback Bobby Price, Running back Stevie Scott, Tight end Bernhard Seikovits, Defensive lineman Jacob Slade, Wide receiver Brandon Smith, Offensive lineman Lecitus Smith, Linebacker Kyle Soelle, Tight end Noah Togiai, Offensive lineman Badara Traore, Cornerback Quavian White, Running back Ty’Son Williams.
