Cardinals WR Sends Message Upon Return
ARIZONA -- Arizona Cardinals WR Greg Dortch is excited to be back in the desert.
Dortch entered this offseason as an exclusive rights free agent, meaning the Cardinals ultimately controlled where he went.
After Arizona tendered Dortch, he was unable to negotiate with any other team, ensuring he remained in Cardinals red for another season.
Take it from Dortch, though - he's glad to be back.
"More motivated than I’ve ever been!! excited to Be back in Arizona again next season! 🙏🏾 All Glory to God #JustaundersizedkidfromRichmondVa," he wrote on Twitter/X.
Dortch has been a fan favorite since his arrival to the Cardinals in 2021, and though he hasn't established himself as a full-time starter, Dortch has been productive in nearly every opportunity given.
Dortch has played in 16 games in each of the last two seasons and took on primary punt/kick return duties for Arizona this past year.
2023 saw him play just 38% of offensive snaps for the Cardinals but was second on the team with 11.7 yards per catch. He caught 24 of 41 targets for 280 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Dortch may unfortunately be relegated to the slot due to his size, though it will be interesting to see how Arizona's aerial attack changes with the potential departure of Marquise Brown in free agency.
At the start of free agency, the Cardinals have re-signed Jesse Luketa, L.J. Collier, Carter O'Donnell and Trystan Colon while bringing in outside additions such as Sean Murphy-Bunting and Bilal Nichols.
