ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are expected by many on the outside to retain Kyler Murray heading into the 2024 offseason, though that won't stop conversation until the Cards are on the clock in the NFL Draft and we gain our final answer.

Mostly driven from the national media, trade interest could be generated for a handful of teams that feel as if they're a quarterback away from winning it all.

One of those squads could be the Minnesota Vikings, who are set to lose Kirk Cousins this offseason.

CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso laid out the framework for a deal in a recent mock draft he completed:

Vikings get: QB Kyler Murray, 2025 sixth-round pick

Cardinals get: No. 46 overall (second-round pick), No. 159 overall (fifth-round pick), and a 2025 fourth-round pick that becomes a third-round pick if Murray throws for over 4,000 yards in 2024

With Arizona's No. 2 pick, the Cardinals took North Carolina QB Drake Maye to replace Murray.

"Maye is a pure pocket passer with mobility and the full franchise quarterback skill set. After the Murray trade, this is the logical decision for Arizona," Wrote Trapasso, who had Caleb Williams going No. 1 to the Chicago Bears.

Murray's massive extension is set to kick in, which could make it tougher for Arizona to part with the former Heisman winner, though people such as ESPN's Bill Barnwell find it difficult to believe Murray will be traded.

Cardinals Trading Kyler Murray Would be 'Surprise'

Other teams who could be searching for a new quarterback this offseason would be the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots and Washington Commanders.
