DeAndre Hopkins Has Message for Future Teammates
Former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins is still in search of his new team after hitting free agency a few weeks back.
The All-Pro receiver recently visited teams such as the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots, though he has yet to ink a new contract.
Hopkins - still apparently undecided on his future - shared the following message on Twitter:
"Whoever’s in my future wide receiver group. I promise I will make your job easy," he said.
Former teammates in the wide receiver room and even former quarterbacks can attest to that. When Hopkins is healthy and on the field, he commands significant attention that opens opportunities for others across the board while still making plays and putting numbers up himself.
However, Hopkins just turned 31-years-old and is coming off a 2022 season that saw him suspended six games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing drugs while also missing the final two games of the season due to injury - though recent reports suggest the Cardinals believe he intentionally sat those games out.
Hopkins had been on the trade block since the early days of the offseason, yet Arizona had trouble finding teams to take on his $19.45 million salary for 2023. The Kansas City Chiefs received permission to meet with Hopkins and the two sides reportedly had a deal worked out before the Baltimore Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a contract worth $15 million. a number that set the bar for Hopkins himself.
Along with Kansas City, New England and Tennessee, the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills are other teams that have been connected to the All-Pro receiver.
