DeAndre Hopkins Update: Titans Make Offer, Patriots Test Former Cardinals WR
The courtship of former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins got off to a slow start following his release from the club, though things are now ramping up for the 31-year-old receiver.
Hopkins recently took a visit with the Tennessee Titans (the first club he's met with since becoming a free agent) earlier in the week. According to Titans beat reporter Buck Reising, Tennessee has submitted a contract offer to the All-Pro receiver.
The details of the deal aren't currently known, though Hopkins has been in search of the ballpark $19.45 million in salary the Cardinals were supposed to pay him this season.
Hopkins has some connections to the Titans, though that goes the same for the New England Patriots - who he visited with today.
Reporter Mark Daniels said the visit between Hopkins and New England was positive for both sides. The Patriots reportedly put him through a full workout.
Close friend of Hopkins and co-host of the Pat McAfee Show Adam Jones says he believes Hopkins won't leave New England without a deal.
It's been quite the curveball of expectations for Hopkins, as organizations such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills were initially thought to be front runners for his services.
Many believe Hopkins will take his time and end up picking his new squad closer to training camp.
However it all spells out, motion is at least being made.
