Kyler Murray Reacts to Aaron Donald's Retirement
ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals won't be seeing Aaron Donald create chaos in their backfield moving forward.
The Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman is calling it a career after ten years in the NFL, he announced on social media:
There's been plenty of great reactions to the news, though Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray might have the best despite it being just two short words:
"THANK GOD."
The rest of the NFC West certainly feels the same, though Murray did post a more serious post for Donald:
Donald - one of the greatest defensive players ever - accumulated 47 tackles and 16 sacks in 20 games against the Cardinals according to StatMuse. Donald was often triple-teamed, though he didn't record a sack in the final three games he played against Arizona.
Murray himself is happy to see Donald go, as Arizona's passer holds a 1-7 record against Los Angeles since entering the NFL.
Donald is a Super Bowl champion with eight first-team All-Pro appearances, ten Pro Bowls, a spot on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
He's one of three players in NFL history - with J.J. Watt and Lawrence Taylor - to win NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Donald joins Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox and Ryan Jensen as notable retirements this offseason.
