Kyler Murray Shows Love to Rising D-backs Star

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray ultimately chose the NFL as his career path, though he easily could have switched professions and played in the MLB.
Murray was a notoriously strong two-sport athlete, so much to the point where he was considered a top prospect in the MLB draft and was even drafted as a top-ten pick in 2018 by the Oakland A's.
However, Murray stuck with football and the decision ultimately paid off. After winning the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma and securing the spot as the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, last offseason he inked a massive five-year, $230.5 million contract.
Yet the sport will always hold a special place in his heart, though he's now resigned to fan status - which has been a good time if you cheer on the Arizona Diamondbacks as of late. The D-backs are first in the NL West with a 50-36 record and sport a young and energetic team.
Murray himself is a big fan of Corbin Carroll, Arizona's 22-year-old left fielder who is very much in the running for NL Rookie of the Year:

Carroll is hitting .292 with 18 home runs thus far and gained a nod to the MLB All-Star game.
Perhaps there's an alternate reality where Murray himself is playing against Carroll in the majors, though Murray seems just fine in his current position as Arizona's QB1 heading into 2023.
Nobody knows when Murray will fully return from his ACL rehab, though the Cardinals will be taking the field for training camp later in July.
