Rams Gain Starting RB Back vs Cardinals
ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals already have their hands full when it comes to game-planning for the Los Angeles Rams, though a new wrinkle will be welcomed back for L.A. in Week 12.
Running back Kyren Williams - who has been out since Week 6's game against Arizona with an ankle injury - is set to return for the second matchup with the Cardinals when Los Angeles visits State Farm Stadium this Sunday.
“He'll be back,” Rams coach Sean McVay said to reporters. "It'll be great to be able to get him back, his productivity, his play energy, his overall presence. He's a guy that we've missed.”
The Cardinals are awfully familiar with Williams, as he torched their defense for 158 yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 victory for Los Angeles. He still leads the Rams in rushing with 456 yards and six touchdowns on the season despite missing several weeks.
Williams is expected to retain his typical workload after the team cut Darrell Henderson.
The Cardinals are 2-9 and hope to play spoiler for the Rams' playoff hopes. Sitting at 4-6, Los Angeles hopes to string together wins in hopes of squeezing into a fairly weak NFC postseason picture.
Arizona hosts the Rams at 2:05 PM Arizona Time on Sunday. Los Angeles opened as just one-point favorites on SI Sportsbook.
