INDIANAPOLIS -- It was a media scrum of all media scrums at podium No. 4.

The 2024 NFL Combine's most anticipated day of quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs speaking with reporters has arrived. Far beyond close to talking time, reporters clogged the stanchion poles blocking off the podium where Jayden Daniels - and Marvin Harrison Jr. - would talk.

Daniels was slated for an 8:00 AM local time press conference. Harrison right after him at 8:20.

A massive crowd sat and listened/asked questions to the current Heisman holder for roughly 15 minutes before the LSU product left. Typically reporters will scurry after a player is done talking to their next assignment, but very few moved an inch.

All of us were here to listen to Harrison Jr. - considered the top prospect at his position - to speak.

Name cards sit in front of their microphones so reporters can identify who is talking.

You can imagine the shock when Drake Maye's card was placed at the podium instead of Harrison's. Somebody from the NFL approached the microphone and informed reporters that Harrison would not be talking at this time, and there was no reason.

"Marvin is not going to be speaking right here, I don't have any other updates," they said.

It's unknown exactly why Harrison isn't doing media availability. Sometimes players run far behind on medical exams prior to speaking. For Harrison, he's opted out of working out for teams here in Indianapolis, and it's unclear if he's remaining silent on purpose.

*UPDATE: Cris Carter says Harrison is stuck doing a full-body scan at medicals*

Wide receivers are slated to do on-field drills at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

The Arizona Cardinals reportedly met with Harrison early this week.
