NFL Insider Confirms Cardinals Moving Forward With Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals - confirmed by Ian Rapoport - will move forward with Kyler Murray into 2024.

ARIZONA -- The status of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was questioned by many coming into the 2023 season. Working under a new regime and rehabbing a significant injury put Murray under the microscope for an organization that was clearly rebuilding.

Yet Murray has returned to action and proven himself worthy of another go in the desert - at least through 2024 - and though that was a conclusion taken from the outside, NFL insider Ian Rapoport officially put the word out earlier this morning.

"There was so much uncertainty based on the injury, what he had dealt with in Kliff Kingsbury - some inconsistency. My understanding: The organization is in fact behind this. They are moving forward with Kyler Murray as their starting quarterback, which does allow them to build around him in the draft and also eliminates some uncertainty: One fewer QB available this offseason."

Earlier this week, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon (who has been very adamant from Day 1 Murray was his team's quarterback) offered this on an appearance with Arizona Sports:

“There’s no doubt (Murray is our quarterback next season). I love that guy. It’s not about one guy, but you know I’m a Kyler guy,” Gannon said.

Heading into Week 18's battle vs Seattle, Murray has completed 154 of 238 passes for 1,537 yards and nine touchdowns to five interceptions. He also has three rushing touchdowns.
