TCU RB Kendre Miller to Meet With Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals continue to do their homework on draft prospects ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. Big names such as TCU WR Quentin Johnston and Texas Tech EDGE Tyree Wilson have/will meet with the Cardinals by end of day Wednesday, and another name can now be added to that list: TCU RB Kendre Miller.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport is reporting Miller met with both Los Angeles teams (Chargers and Rams) over the weekend and is still slated to meet with the Cardinals, Giants and Bills this week.
No specific day/date was mentioned.
Miller (5-11, 215 lbs) would operate as a backup to current Arizona RB1 James Conner. When healthy, Conner has proven to be extremely impactful for the Cardinals. Though he still has two years left on his deal, Arizona does have an out after 2023 where they could cut him with only $3 million in dead cap.
Miller's scouting report on NFL.com didn't exactly leave a glowing review:
"The size and production will check important boxes, but Miller’s lack of tempo and explosiveness between the tackles could turn him into a grinder against the speed of NFL defenses. His restricted stride length provides greater control to cut early in the run, but it works against him when he needs to hit the gas and stride past linebackers," said Lance Zierlein.
"He has the size and strength to keep runs moving though contact, although he could be an even better run finisher. His third-down value is relatively low, so he will need to sell himself as an early down backup on the next level."
Miller averaged 6.2 yards per carry in 2022 with nearly 1,400 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. The Draft Network has him as a fifth-round value.
