Three Teams Wanted Cardinals CB Marco Wilson

ARIZONA -- It was a split that needed to happen for both sides.
Former Arizona Cardinals cornerback Marco Wilson didn't play a single defensive snap in the last four games played for the team before being waived earlier this week.
Wilson - as respectfully as possible - was targeted far too often by opposing offenses as a weak link with a high success rate.
Marco Wilson gave up 702 yards this season, which was the most by an AZ defender this season by 332 yards.

It's also the fourth-most in the NFL. Two of the three players who have allowed more have played in every game and one in all but two.
Wilson hasn't played since Week 11.
Arizona will move forward with names like Antonio Hamilton, Kei'Trel Clark, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams for the last two weeks of the season.
Wilson was claimed by the New England Patriots yesterday, though ESPN NFL insider Field Yates reported the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans also put a claim in for the Florida product:
A total of 3 teams put in a waiver claim on new Patriots CB Marco Wilson: the Patriots, Broncos and Titans. New England had top priority and added the former Cardinals CB.

Wilson could have reunited with former defensive coordinator Vance Joseph in Denver, as both spent previous time in the desert before the regime change this past offseason.
Perhaps the Titans hit up familiar face and Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort before putting in a claim, too.
“We feel good about the guys in the room. Respect Marco. He handled himself like a pro, but I feel good about moving forward," Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said on Wednesday.
“There’s (only) so many spots, so to get some guys up and playing and the roster construction of all that, we just felt like it was best for the team for this week moving forward.”
