Two Cardinals Staff to Coach Senior Bowl

The Arizona Cardinals will indeed have a presence in Mobile, AL.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals have plenty of scouting to do ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, and they'll get a little hands-on experience down at the Senior Bowl.

Cardinals QB coach Israel Woolfork and RB coach Autry Denson were announced to be part of the the two separate staffs (Woolfork will work with the National team while Denson will be with the American squad):

The Cardinals have a total of 13 picks in the draft, with six coming in the first three rounds. Arizona got plenty of production out of their Day 2 and Day 3 picks last year - perhaps the two coaches down in Mobile will spot some late-round talent to continue that trend. 

Both Denson and Woolfork were brought on staff after head coach Jonathan Gannon landed the job last offseason. 

James Conner thanked Denson after he tallied his first 1,000 yard rushing season of his career:

"I want to thank my coach, (Running Backs Coach) Autry Denson. Really consistent. He's been awesome to me. Helping me become a better football player, better man on and off the field," Conner said. 

"We start every meeting with prayer. We haven't had a meeting without starting with prayer first. Obviously, God is huge in my life and he's huge in his life, too. Really respect Coach AD for our day-to-day process. In individual (periods), we always have something new that's trying to take us to new heights, elevate our game. I feel like it's no secret why I've had the year I’ve had with him being my coach.” 

Kyler Murray also offered high words of praise to his position coach:

“The relationship that we have just as far as he’s really receptive. He’ll shoot you straight but also can hear you out and understand what I’m seeing and what I’m feeling. We just bounce back ideas. I think that’s something that you’ve got to have in this game," Murray said of Woolfork. 

"Every quarterback coach that’s kind of the go-to guy as far as in your corner, talking to you throughout the day. With the OC having more time to allocate to other things so we’ve got a good relationship."

The 2024 Senior Bowl will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3 - both teams will practice in the days leading up to the game.
