Reacting to a Wild Arizona Cardinals Week
ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals got off to a hot start in free agency, plugging holes across the defense almost instantly on the first day of "legal" tampering.
Over the next few days, the Cardinals continued to endure more change, as prominent faces such as D.J. Humphries, Rondale Moore and Marquise Brown departed either by trade, release or free agency.
New faces have also arrived as a result of those moves, and we went live on our YouTube channel to discuss all the latest happenings:
Reacting to a Wild Arizona Cardinals Week
The release of LT D.J. Humphries was expected by many who follow the Cardinals, as his age (30), health (tore his ACL in Week 17) and contract status (two years left) made him a prime cut candidate as the Cardinals continued their rebuild.
Arizona designated Humphries as a Post-June 1 cut, which ultimately saves the Cardinals north of $15 million (though the team will carry $13 million of that until June 2).
In came Jonah Williams via free agency, who can play both left or right tackle. It will be interesting to see where Arizona values both Williams and Paris Johnson Jr. - who can also play on both sides - and where they slot best in the desert.
Rondale Moore was sent packing in a rare player-for-player swap with the Atlanta Falcons, which brought on quarterback Desmond Ridder. It's clear both organizations simply believed a fresh start worked for each guy.
To cap things off, Marquise Brown officially departed in free agency after signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.
