Chargers Rumors: Bolts Linked to Young Wide Receiver as Trade Deadline Looms

Could they make a move?

The NFL Trade Deadline is almost here, and the Los Angeles Chargers have been linked to wide receivers.

They've already been linked to All-Pro WR DeAndre Hopkins, and now they're being linked to young standout wide receiver Darnell Mooney.

The Chicago Bears are reportedly taking calls on Mooney as the 1:00 p.m. PT deadline nears, and the Chargers are among the interested teams.

Mooney had a breakout 2021 season where he reached over 1,000 yards receiving. However, he's struggled the last two seasons, and has only racked up 15 catches for 225 yards this year in Chicago.

It would make sense for Chicago to move on from Mooney with the emergence of DJ Moore, and the Chargers could definitely use another receiver to complement Keenan Allen and Joshua Palmer.

Mooney likely wouldn't cost more than a mid-to-late-round pick, and the Chargers, at 3-4, could use a jolt as they fight in the AFC Wild Card race.
