Chargers Absent From Top RB Draft Target's Preferred Destinations List
University of Texas at Austin running back Bijan Robinson revealed to NFL Now that, among the pro clubs he's spoken with ahead of today's draft, he appears to be most excited about the Atlanta Falcons (the eighth seed in the first round) and the Philadelphia Eagles (the tenth), per Around The NFL.
Robinson actually traveled to Philadelphia to visit the recent Super Bowl champs.
"[Seeing the] Eagles was an amazing visit," Robinson said. [From] coaches to GM, the janitor, the staff. Everyone there was just amazing. Just building those relationships throughout the draft process with those guys has been awesome. But every team I've talked to has been just amazing. Now I'm just really excited to see where I'm going to end up."
Though Robinson didn't visit the Falcons in person, he still apparently got a good sense of that club's infrastructure.
"That's a great organization," Robinson said of the Falcons. "Great coaches. I had a chance to meet with them as well, and it was an awesome meeting. I kind of see where that's going in, where that's headed at. But obviously like I said, for me, we just don't know. We could have a surprise, anything could happen. I just know that God's going to put me on the right team, right position, and it's going to be fun wherever I'm at."
One team that was notably omitted was your Los Angeles Chargers, whom Vegas oddsmakers peg as numbering among the three top teams likeliest to draft the star running back. The Chargers will have the 21st pick in this year's first round, and are rumored to be considering a wide receiver. Would Robinson fall beyond the first round, where players at his position are considered generally passé due to their briefer on-field lifespans.
