Chargers Find Themselves on The Wrong Side of History… Again

When will it end?

Falling on the road to the Titans after another late-game collapse, the Chargers have once again dropped an easily winnable game in what's become a frustrating trend.

Such angering results for fans and team alike have reared their ugly head, and the Bolts have made some undesirable history to begin 2023 with their 0-2 record.

Though the offense has been able to keep clean in the takeaway department, the unit's failure to execute in late-game situations has been evident.

Possessing the ball last in regulation in both weeks, Justin Herbert and the rest of his weapons failed to get a go-ahead score in consecutive games.

With just under 90 ticks to go in Week 1, Herbert's offensive line collapsed as he was forced into an intentional grounding penalty that virtually killed any chance of the Chargers stealing the game from Miami.

Taking it one step further against the Titans this past Sunday, the Bolts were down by three in the red zone, but Kellen Moore's unit failed to get open for the go-ahead touchdown.

This meant that Cameron Dicker had to settle for overtime with his kick rather than an extra point after what would've been a likely game-winning touchdown.

The offense took it one step further after winning the coin toss in overtime but, failing to get a single positive yardage play, forced to punt the ball to Tennessee.

Derrick Henry and the Titans did the rest, and Nick Folk split the uprights for the game-winning field goal, sending LA to an 0-2 record.

Dangerously at risk of missing the playoffs within the first month of the season, their next game with the similarly 0-2 Vikings becomes even more pressing.

We'll see if Brandon Staley's men can get in the win column, as the head coach's seat has gotten infinitely hotter after just two games.
