Chargers News: Kellen Moore Confirms Austin Ekeler's Role in Backfield

Going into year seven, Ekeler is still that dude in the LA backfield

With just six days remaining until the start of the 2023 NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers have some question marks at the moment. However, one question that was quickly addressed by offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was the role of Chargers star Austin Ekeler in the upcoming season. Moore unequivocally stated that Ekeler will continue to be "the guy" in the LA backfield. 

"Austin is the guy. Certainly, we feel really confident about Austin, but as the season goes on, we want to be able to utilize those guys to allow Austin to be Austin. We'll sprinkle those guys in, and every game will be a little bit different the way those rotations role, but certainly Austin is number one."
