Chargers News: Pundit Suggests FA Veteran TE Could Reunite with Kellen Moore in LA
The Los Angeles Chargers are pretty much set in most of their key positions on the team. They have made significant improvements to their roster in the draft and free agency, addressing many of their previous issues. However, some analysts suggested that they could still strengthen their tight-end position.
LA had the opportunity to bolster their tight end in the draft, but as we all know, they decided to go in a different direction, and at the moment, it looks like a great decision. Nonetheless, some pundits still believe they should add another tight end, like Chargers insider Gavino Borquez.
Borquez listed six free agents that the Chargers should suggest going after, and one of them was tight end Geoff Swaim, a former Dallas Cowboys tight end who has a connection with the Chargers' current offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore.
After being drafted by the Cowboys in 2015, Swaim played under offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier. Across eight seasons, Swaim has 100 receptions for 752 yards and six touchdowns.

Swaim had a productive time in Dallas under Kellen Moore's offense, recording solid numbers over his four seasons with the team. Throughout his eight-year career, he has amassed 100 receptions for 752 yards, six touchdowns, and an impressive 78.1% catch rate.
Although he spent the last three seasons with the Tennessee Titans and is currently unsigned, acquiring a backup tight end like Swaim could be beneficial, considering the potential for injuries and the need to provide rest for the primary tight end, Gerald Everett.
According to ESPN, the Chargers currently have four tight ends on their depth chart. Ultimately, it will be up to the team's front office to decide how to proceed and whether or not they pursue a player like Geoff Swaim.
