Chargers News: Tua Tagovailoa Praises Justin Herbert Playing Style and Delves into Football Differences

Praise from his fellow draft classmate.

Though the Week 1 matchup between the Dolphins and Chargers is on the minds of many fans of both teams this weekend, the individual matchup for both quarterbacks is surely at the forefront of discussion as well.

When asked about his counterpart on the Bolts in Justin Herbert, Miami signal caller Tua Tagovailoa went in depth about his fellow 2020 drafted QB on the other side of the field.

Both Miami and LA made the postseason last year, but Tagovailoa was unable to start in the postseason due to multiple concussions that held him out of numerous weeks and nearly caused the quarterback to retire.

On the sidelines for their only playoff game in Buffalo, the former Alabama product watched on as Sylar Thompson replaced his production and nearly beat their divisional rival in the Wild Card round.

Herbert, who fortunately was healthy enough to play despite a lingering rib issue all season, suffered a similar fate in far more embarrassing fashion after blowing a 27-point lead as the Bolts' offense sputtered in the second half.

With both healthy, more questions have arisen over who the better quarterback prospect is as they came up in the lead-up to the 2020 draft.

Miami selected Tagovailoa, who was projected as the first overall pick before fellow 2020 draft-class QB Joe Burrow lit the college world on fire in a dominant championship season for LSU.

Instead, the Dolphins now got him at the fifth overall selection despite a hip issue that hampered his final season with the Crimson Tide.

Criticized by many, the Chargers opted for Herbert after his season with the Ducks, and the former Oregon product has had one of the hottest starts to a QB career in NFL history.

No matter how happy both teams they say they are with their promising young arm, we know who we'd pick to go to war with.
