Chargers News: Bolts Concerned Mike Williams Could Be Done For Year With Knee Injury
Well it has already been a rough morning for Los Angeles Chargers fans.
Following the team's lone win of the 2023 NFL season, a shaky 28-24 affair over the now 0-3 Minnesota Vikings to improve to a still-lackluster 1-2 record, LA has apparently gotten some scary medical results for one of its core receivers.
Mike Williams had to be carted off the field midway through the contest's third quarter after a productive start to the game Sunday. The 6'4" receiver had notched seven total catches for 121 yards, including a 49-yard touchdown via a pass from Allen at that point of the game, but appeared to suffer a knee injury and was quickly ushered into his team's locker room.
Now, per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, there is major concern that the Bolts wideout incurred a knee injury that will effectively end his season just three games into the proceedings.
The exact details of what the ailment are have not yet been revealed, and Williams is undergoing a confirmatory MRI this morning, so we'll doubtless have more intel on the injury soon, but it seems like Justin Herbert will need to rely on Keenan Allen even more than he had before to make the Chargers' mediocre offense hum this year, should Williams need to miss extended time.
