It all kicks off tomorrow, Charger fans. After a long, wild, and productive offseason, it's almost time for your Bolts to hit the football field, for real this time. 24 hours from now, the Chargers will take on AFC East opponent, the Miami Doolphosn, for Week 1 of the 2023 season.

This matchup has a ton. of anticipation and excitement toward it, as we could see this matchup in January once the playoffs start. A ton of eyes will be glued on this game, and we know both fan bases cannot wait to get it started.

However, before we get into the new season, let's look back at the Chargers-Dolphins 2022 Week 14 matchup in which the Chargers came out on top 23-17.

December 11, 2022

The Los Angeles Chargers were heading into their Sunday Night matchup against the Dolphins at .500 with a 6-6 record. The Dolphins were going in four games above .500, 8-4, and in prime position for a high wild card spot.

The Chargers were without key defenders in cornerback Bryce Callahan, defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day, and superstar corner Derwin James. Still, LA put on a show on defense, holding the Fins to 219 total yards, 49 total plays, and 127 passing yards. It was a tremendous display on defense for the Bolts, and without a bizarre fumble recovery by Dolphins star WR Tyreek Hill, LA would have only allowed one touchdown in that game.

The offense did their part, too, as Justin Herbert threw for 367 passing yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. The star wide receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen balled out as well, as they combined for 18 receptions for 208 yards and one touchdown that belonged to Williams.

It wasn't the smoothest of games, but LA managed to pull it off and will look to do the same tomorrow with a much healthier squad this time.

The Dolphins will have something to say about that as well. It will be a fun matchup, and we cannot wait until it gets going.

Bolt Up, Charger fans!
