Chargers Estimated Wednesday Practice Report Has 2 Key Starters Limited Ahead Of Chiefs Bout
When facing off against the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs this weekend on a shortened week-to-week turnaround, your Los Angeles Chargers are going to need all the help they can get. That is especially true of LA's defense, which will look to stifle the 5-1 Chiefs' superstar tandem of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, both definite first ballot Hall of Famers still in their primes (Kelce is in his extended prime, but it's still his prime).
That's why it was troubling to see that key linebacker Joey Bosa (toe injury) and defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day (knee injury) were both listed as being limited in Wednesday's practice with nagging ailments, per LA's own estimated early practice report.
Bosa, a 6'5", 280-pound OSU product, has already missed a game for Los Angeles this season. Across his four healthy appearances, the 28-year-old has logged seven solo tackle (eight total) and three sacks. LA would greatly miss the four-time Pro Bowler's defensive contributions against a formidable KC offense, should he indeed have to sit.
Joseph-Day, a Super Bowl champion with the crosstown LA Rams, departed the Chargers' eventual loss to the Cowboys early, and appears to still be bothered by that pesky knee injury. In his first year with the Bolts, the 6'4", 310-pound Rutgers product has notched 15 tackles (eight solo, seven assisted), two sacks, and two stuffs.
