Chargers News: Jim Harbaugh Explains What Position Group is the Strongest Heading Into the 2024 Season
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke with reporters yesterday during the owners' meeting and went into depth about the outlook for the Bolts in 2024. The hope is that Harbuagh's promise to win multiple championships while coaching the team can happen.
A sure fire way for the Chargers to become a danger in the AFC again is by shoring up the offensive line. Justin Herbert is one of the most dangerous QBs in the league when he has time to gun the ball down the field. However, he cannot do so without the time to do so.
The Chargers are likely losing starting center Corey Linsley to medical retirement, but they have already made a big stride by signing his replacement in veteran Bradley Bozeman. Bozeman comes over from the Carolina Panthers and start immediately.
The offensive line is a huge point to improve for the 2024 season, and Harbaugh knows why. He spoke to Adam Hoge and stated that the "offensive line doesn't depend on any other position group. That is certainly true.
If the offensive line does it job by protecting drives, then the offense stays on the field. This helps the defense rest to make crucial plays and get the ball back. The offensive line is also far more important for the Chargers considering protecting Herbert is paramount.
Harbaugh has long stated that he wants physicality in his team, and adding a tough and physical offensive line would do wonders for the entire Chargers team. Hopefully, Harbaugh and GM Joe Hortiz can shore up the o-line more via the draft.
