After Chargers Loss, Bears Coach Matt Eberflus Achieves Unique Record In Awfulness
It hasn't been that long that the Los Angeles Chargers fans have been calling for Brandon Staley to be fired. It makes sense considering how rough the beginning of the season has been for the Bolts.
Despite the rocky start, the team reminded everyone in the AFC just how dangerous they can be when the team is clicking on all cylinders. That might not be the case when playing teams over .500, which the Chicago Bears are not, but the Bolts can show up when needed.
Fans might be more happy with Staley after knowing that he has a 21-19 and .537 win/loss percentage record in the last three years with the Chargers. The Bears' Matt Eberflus is nowhere near that efficient, as his win/loss percentage is atrocious.
Matt Eberflus is now 5-20 after the Bears' loss to the Bolts last night, giving him a .200 win/loss percentage in the last two seasons. Though Staley might still be on the hot seat by season's end, Eberflus might be let go before the regular season wraps up.
The Bears have a ton of talent on their roster, but it might be Eberflus who is in over his head. It's not often that head coaches are let go by mid-season, but the Bears will need to do something quickly to turn things around.
Brandon Staley might have been in the conversation to be replaced after the last two losses, but the Chargers' big win last night will keep his job safe. He might be struggling right now, but a .537 win/loss win percentage is leaps and bounds better than .200.
