Austin Ekeler Shares Hilarious Story Involving Ex-Charger QB

Ekeler was surprised by Rivers' family life
In this story:

Before becoming an NFL star with Justin Herbert handing off the ball to him, Austin Ekeler had someone else commanding the offense.

When Ekeler got into the league in 2017, from then up until 2019, he received handoffs and passes from Chargers QB legend Philip Rivers.

Although the two were an exciting duo when they played together, some of the stories off the field are just as entertaining.

This past week, Ekeler shared a story of the first time he met Rivers and his family.

Rivers, who is now a high school football coach in Alabama, is known to have a full house as he and his wife are raising ten children.

When Ekeler first came to the Chargers, this caught him off guard as he was not expecting the quarterback to have so many kids.

Rivers left the Chargers in 2019 and would play one more year with the Colts before deciding to retire for good from the NFL.

Since 2019, Ekeler has become one of the best running backs in the league.

With Herbert at the helm, Ekeler has rushed for 2600 yards and 27 touchdowns and has caught an additional ten touchdowns.

While he doesn't see River around the locker room anymore, Ekeler will never forget the details of Rivers' immediate family life.
