Chargers News: Brandon Staley Not Worried About Job Security Despite 2-4 Start

Staley is not concerned about being on a hot seat...
In this story:

Your Los Angeles Chargers lost yet another game this week, dropping a 31-17 decision to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Los Angeles thus fell to a 2-4 record to start the year.

They also went a second straight week only managing to score 17 points and this is the second time this season that the Chargers failed to score any points in the second half.

At this point in the season, fingers start to point and murmurs start to get louder usually about the head coach and in this case, it is about Brandon Staley.

Staley claims that these comments are not getting to him and that, six weeks into the season, they do not tell the whole story, according to Kris Rhim of ESPN.

Staley is in his third year as the Los Angeles Chargers head coach and currently has a record of 21-19 and an 0-1 record in the playoffs.

While being around .500 is good for some coaches, especially with rebuilding or young inexperienced rosters, this record for Staley is a little concerning considering the talent that is on the Chargers roster on both sides of the football.

The offense is currently led by Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, and Justin Herbert, while also featuring Mike Williams before his season-ending injury.

The defensive side of the ball may be even more impressive with players like Derwin James Jr., Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Eric Kendricks, and Asante Samuel Jr.

The team is full of talented stars and more-than-capable role players than their 2-4 record.

So if it is not the players, eyes look to the coaching of the team, and where it leads is a coach that honestly might not see 17 games this season if they continue down this path of losing and disappointment.
