In the highly competitive landscape of the NFL, numerous teams have made significant improvements to bolster their chances of success in the upcoming 2023 season. Among these teams are your Los Angeles Chargers, who find themselves in a loaded conference and a tough division.

The Chargers are looking to be the last team standing by the end of the season. However, standing in their path are the Las Vegas Raiders, another team who also made improvements to their roster and will stand in LA"s way of winning the AFC West.

One of the notable additions for the Raiders is veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The Raiders signed Garoppolo to a lucrative three-year contract worth $72.8 million. However, the current situation does not bode well for Garoppolo and the Raiders, as he is grappling with a foot injury that could potentially mean the end of his time as a Raider.

NFL insider Mike Florio provided information on his contract and the ins and outs of it that could mean the end for Jimmy on the Raiders.

Addendum G includes language in which Garoppolo "expressly acknowledges and waives the risk of further injury" and "expressly assumes all risks of continuing to play, despite the condition."Per Florio, the deal also "preserves the team's ability to terminate the agreement with no further obligation" for any reason tied to the addendum.

Head coach Josh McDaniels is hesitant about his QB's chances of returning to the team.

"I'd say with all these guys, it's about the same," he said. "When they're ready, some of them may be ready before the spring is over. Some of them may not. Again, we're always going to err at this time of the year on being smart."

Throughout his career, Garoppolo has been plagued with injuries, and the previous season was no exception. If Garoppolo indeed misses the season, it would be a disastrous turn of events for the Raiders.

It would be great for the Chargers as they'd have one less team to worry about. In all seriousness, this would be a huge loss for the Raiders, and time will tell how it will play out on their end.

Nonetheless, the Chargers remain focused on themselves and will look for a tremendous 2023 season.
