Chargers Experts Believe 2023 Offense Will Look Like Justin Herbert's Rookie Season
The Los Angeles Chargers will look for a bounce-back 2023 season. They fell tremendously short of where they wanted to be and what they wanted to accomplish in 2022. Nonetheless, this season will look different with the type of personnel they've acquired, including their coaching staff.
LA wasted no time revamping their offesne as they got one of the best offensive coordinators, Kellen Moore, from the Dallas Cowboys. He will surely bring his experience and an aerial attack to the Bolts, which will be a game-changer for the squad.
Many experts believe that, including Chargers experts from the Chargers weekly podcast who say the offense will be more vertical and look similar to the 2020 LA offense.
"I think this is going to be a much more vertical attack. Going back to the rookie year of Justin Herbert, where T-Billy, Jalen Guyton, and Mike Williams were catching bombs seemingly on a weekly basis."
Moore revitalized the running game of the Dallas Cowboys, and there is no doubt he will do the same with arguably the best back in Austin Ekeler. However, he can make the pass catchers of his offense one hell of a threat.
The Chargers struggled with manufacturing deep plays due to a combination of many different things, including their former OC, Joe Lombardi. It won't be the same with Moore, as we've seen what CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and the other Dallas receivers would do in his offense.
Priority number one will be to remain healthy, and if they do so, the sky is the limit for this newly vamped offense.
