In this story:

It has been quite some time since the Los Angeles Chargers were among the best offensive lines in the league. They currently sit around the middle when it comes to power rankings but they will undoubtedly look to change that in 2023 with some shifts in the lineups.

Most Chargers fans thought the o-line would thrive with Rashawn Slater holding it down in his second year with the squad. However, a torn bicep limited him to just three games and the Bolts tried different replacements. Trey Pipkins III was among the most productive there and he certainly kept defenders from reaching Justin Herbert en route to a brand new contract.

Tom Telesco revealed that LA will be switching things up once again and putting some guys in their natural positions in hopes of maximizing everybody's potential. The biggest plan they currently have is to move Zion Johnson from right guard to left guard in his sophomore season.

"Telesco said

Jamaree Salyer

will “probably be at right guard” in 2023. Staley had said earlier Monday that the plan was to move Salyer to left guard to replace Matt Feiler, who the Chargers cut earlier this month. Staley called left guard Salyer’s “natural position.” But Telesco said

Zion Johnson

would be moving from right guard, where he started in 2022, to left guard.

This move will allow Johnson to move back to the position that he was known for playing at back in his college years. However, Telesco has faith that all of his o-line can perform where they are at.

The 23-year-old suited up for 17 games with the Chargers last season and will look to build off of his promising start in LA.
