Chargers Injury Report: 2 Bolts Who Got Hurt Against Bears Face Uncertain Fates
Your Los Angeles Chargers earned a big win on Sunday Night Football against the Chicago Bears and Tyson Bagent.
In a 30-13 victory, many bright spots and stars came out to play. Unfortunately, the team did not emerge fully healthy after the big win improved their season record to a respectable 3-4.
Wide receiver Joshua Palmer left the game with a knee injury at the end of the first quarter before eventually returning to the field to help his team secure a much-needed win.
The injury seemed to not be significant enough to hold him out of the game but the body can most definitely react differently when it comes time to rest and recover.
Palmer was already filling in for Mike Williams after his unfortunate ACL tear.
On the year, Palmer has 23 receptions for 377 yards and a touchdown.
If Palmer misses any time with this knee injury it would be the rookie Quentin Johnston stepping into the no.2 role for the Chargers at wide receiver.
Quentin Johnston had his best game as a professional football player on Sunday night recording five catches for 50 yards.
The 6'4 "receiver was drafted as the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of TCU and has been off to a slow start this season, but unfortunate injuries may have opened a window to prove himself to the team.
Asante Samuel Jr. also left the game early after taking a big hit in the fourth quarter, but the hope is that it is nothing serious and rather just a safety precaution to not raise Samuel Jr's reinjury risk.
Samuel Jr. has continued being great ever since the Chargers drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
On the year he has 34 total tackles, two interceptions, and six pass defenses.
A big part of this team's secondary is hopefully back on the field during practice this week as the Chargers prepare to face a tough game against the New York Jets.
