Chargers Injury Report: 2 Key Offensive Players Day-To-Day Ahead Of Packers Meeting

Bad news on top of bad news

After losing their fifth game of the season to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, two key Los Angeles Chargers pass catchers are listed as day-to-day.

Those two Chargers are tight end Gerald Everett and Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, the latter of whom is fresh off a spectacular performance against Detroit, as Bridget Condon of NFL Network reports:

Head coach Brandon Staley says Allen is listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Allen made a brief exit in the second half of their loss on Sunday. He visited the locker room to have his shoulder evaluated before returning to action. Allen still managed to torch the Lions secondary, putting up 175 yards on 11 receptions and scoring two touchdowns. This is a normal week for the Bolts, so hopefully, we can see him in Lambeau Field this upcoming Sunday.

As for Everett, he too is considered day-to-day with a back injury, according to Staley. The 29-year-old tight end left Sunday's game early in the second half and was unable to return. He finished the week with zero catches for zero yards on two targets. Everett hasn't been a big part of the offense this season, but hopefully, this injury doesn't keep him out for an extended period of time.

No Allen this upcoming week would be detrimental to the Chargers' wide receiver room, as that department is already depleted enough. LA cannot afford any more injuries, as they've suffered too many injuries through ten weeks, and with a 4-5 record, LA cannot afford any more mistakes.
