Chargers Injury Report: Diagnosis Revealed For Justin Herbert
After leaving your Los Angeles Chargers' eventual 24-7 loss against the Denver Broncos early with an injury, LA quarterback Justin Herbert has now been diagnosed with a fractured index finger.
Herbert's timetable to return is unknown at this time, but we may have seen the last of him for this season.
With their loss to Denver, the Chargers record fell to a paltry 5-8 on the season. Their playoff hopes are all but gone, and this injury just adds to the frustration of the season.
His season is likely over, especially given where the Chargers are in the standings. This is a massive loss for the Bolts and the NFL as a whole. Herbert is one of the more popular players in the league, so his absence will be felt.
Assuming that Herbert does remain out for the rest of the season, backup quarterback Easton Stick will likely take over as the starter. He has hardly any experience playing in the NFL, but went 13-of-24, putting up 179 yards, after coming into the game for Herbert against the Broncos.
At this point, the Chargers will just be playing for pride purposes. Their season is over, and head coach Brandon Staley will likely be fired at the conclusion of the regular season. Another wasted year from this team and big changes are needed all over the organization.
