Chargers Injury Report: Keenan Allen Ruled Out For Clash With Bills
The Los Angeles Chargers don't have much to play for after they have all been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. They are playing for pride and the hopes for a more bountiful 2024 season, as they will search for a new head coach and GM when the season ends.
They can also play season ruiner for many teams, which would start this Saturday when they take on the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, they will have to try and beat the AFC playoff hopefuls without their star player.
Keenan Allen has officially been ruled out of the game, as he has been dealing with a significant heel injury. At this point, it might be smarter for the team to just shut down Allen for the remainder of the season.
There are only 3 games left, and his desire to play could lead to him aggravating or making this heel injury worse. Allen is a stalwart player and one they will need to lean on in the 2024 season.
The Chargers could be looking at an exodus of players due to their cap issues in 2024. There are also players like Austin Ekeler who will become an FA.
Allen's health should be the concern here, and he will be the anchor the team needs in 2024 and beyond. His heel injury might not be significant enough to hold him out of another game, but there is no point in risking that for next season.
